Music in the community
All children and young people should have the opportunity to sing, play and produce music, and Charanga hope everyone using the platform enjoys every minute of their musical journey.
Charanga recognise that some children and young people face barriers to participation in musical activities. For music education to be truly inclusive, Charanga also know they must go beyond equality of opportunity. Charanga, therefore, strive for equity as a company, adapting their products and services to meet the needs of all students, teachers and project leaders. Charanga want IDEA – Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access – to be central to their offer and future plans.
While operating as a business, Charanga are committed to providing social good in everything they do. Charanga is therefore proud to support Youth Music – a national charity that invests in grassroots organisations to help 0–25-year-olds make, learn and earn in music.
The partnership was originally set up to overcome the barriers to music-making resulting from COVID-19 when face-to-face delivery became increasingly complex, and access to music-making tools was limited. It continues today with all Youth Music-funded organisations and the young people they support being offered free access to a creative music suite that includes YuStudio, Charanga’s accessible DAW.
Charanga is also dedicated to environmental sustainability and has taken tangible steps to minimise their ecological footprint. As a cloud-based educational technology business with tens of thousands of teachers and students using their online service daily, Charanga use only environmentally sustainable data centres that utilise renewable energy sources and adopt innovative cooling technologies.
